Throughout January, there will be lots of fun self guided and tutor-led things to do indoors in Maitland. You will find code breakers, activity sheets, dance, comics, yoga, and more! Bookings required through Eventbrite.

Storytime is a free weekly program of stories, rhymes and songs that encourages a love of reading and helps eager young minds develop a range of important skills such as language development, counting, imagination, concentration, creativity and listening. No booking is required, just come along.

Thursday Night Meditation

Learn to sit, be present and open. This meditation group at Preah Koh is time to yourself as well as a safe space to let go and heal.

Playgroup at Maitland Library

Playgroups give children an early start to learning through play and socialising, which we know is vital for early child development. At playgroup you can discuss ideas and the joys, challenges and frustrations of parenting.

Baby Book Club

Give your baby the best start in life by learning how to share reading and language with them at Baby Book Club. The free sessions run weekly and include stories, songs, rhymes and finger play through the use of board books, puppets and musical instruments. Reading tips and advice on the best resources are provided by Library staff.

Story Maps

A five session plan through which children engage in art and writing, local historical appreciation, and learn to develop a work into the format of a zine and map. Please note that participants are required to commit to all 5 days.
